Set after the end of the world, The 1314th Encounter (第1314次偶遇) is a first love between two androids. It's a small, quiet premise carrying a large, strange question: what does tenderness look like on a face that was manufactured — and how do you make an audience feel it?

Why androids are the hard case
You might think a non-human character would be easier for AI — less to get wrong, less uncanny-valley risk. The opposite is true. An android has to feel human enough to love and be loved, while still reading as something other than human. That's a razor-thin performance target: too mechanical and the audience feels nothing; too human and the premise dissolves. The whole story lives in micro-expression — the smallest movements, the ones that carry emotion — performed by characters who, by definition, shouldn't have them.
Generic video models animate a face. They don't act one. And an android love story is nothing without acting.
The performance underneath

The AI Creative Award at AAFF — an international festival — recognized that The 1314th Encounter clears that bar.
